For the benefit of those who will not have seen the original, covering around 900 descendants and wives of descendants of Thomas Wigwood/Wygood, 1541-1641, the apparent ancestor of all existing Waygoods by birth, the background information contained is repeated, with appropriate additions and variations.
These notes, the family tree and appendix, include information collected in searches mainly of Somerset, Bristol and Dorset church registers, censures, directories and newspapers, Mormon International Genealogical Index of baptisms and marriages (IGI), England & Wales, Boyd's national marriage index, St. Catherine's House (Registrar General's) indexes of births, marriages and deaths, 1837-1940, Published early records, and Wills.
The original, which covered births to 1913 and marriages to 1930, has been updated to 1940. Coverage to 1940 in this Supplement has not operated to split families in which children were born on both sides of the dividing line, where details of the later children are known; again, where details are known, the names and birth dates of the next generation have been included in notes under the Waygood parent's name.
